Medicine Buddha is an enlightened being who has unbiased compassion for all living beings. He protects living beings from physical and mental sickness and other dangers and obstacles, and helps them to eradicate the three poisons – attachment, hatred, and ignorance – which are the source of all sickness and danger.

H.E. Paltul Rinpoche was born in Kham, East Tibet. From his very early years he showed an extraordinary interest in the Buddha’s teachings and an extraordinary talent in the art of healing. Following the traditions of the Tibetan culture, he joined Palkey Lachen Monastery, a monastery of the Sakya School. Paltul Rinpoche has been recognized as the 5th Pora Tulku. The previous four Pora Tulkus were meditation masters and physicians who had been renowned all over Tibet, and Paltul Rinpoche continues their traditions today.
