White Mahakala is the emanation of Black Mahakala in its wealth deity form. We pay homage and invoke this sixarmed protector in order to remove material and spiritual poverty, to bestow wealth, and to liberate us into a state of Buddhahood. We will do the practice regularly on the 8th day of each month of the Tibetan Calendar.
Venerable Lama Tashi is an accomplished Lama and Ritual Master of the Sakya sect of Tibetan Buddhism. As a monk he completed and mastered all the traditional Sakya deity retreats: Hevajra, Varjakilaya, Varjapani, and Vajrayogini. At the age of 25 he became the private tutor for HE Ratna Varja Sakya, son of HH Sakya Trizin. Through a special ceremony, HH JD Sakya appointed him as a leader of Sakya Tsechen Thupten Dekyi Choling Center in Taipei, Taiwan, where he has been the resident Lama for many years. Venerable Lama Tashi has served HH JD Sakya and the Sakya Monastery in many noble ways.
