Because we have funds leftover from last weekend and because we wish to offer further benefit, we will be holding another Worm Release this Saturday, June 16. If you can attend, please meet at the side door of Sakya Monastery at 10:30am.
No need for donations. Instead, please come and offer your prayers and compassion! Everyone is welcome!
Time: 9:30 am at Sakya Monastery, or
10:00 am at Carkeek Park
Tibetan Buddhists have traditionally practiced releasing animals (semchen tsetar tangpa) otherwise destined for slaughter. For the animals whose lives are saved, the freedom and relief from being killed helps to bring happiness to them. The practice generates an immense amount of merit that we can dedicate for the benefit of all sentient beings. We will be raising funds to release worms into their natural habitat and be dedicating it for the long life and good health of our precious teachers.
H.H. Dagchen Rinpoche will bless the worms and Venerable Tulku Yeshi will continue the prayer service at Carkeek park. Sakya Monastery and the Dharma School will participate in this event. Please join us!
We will meet near the picnic tables near the playground. People who want to participate seeing the worms blessed, and for those who would like to help carry the worms and circumambulate the stupa, they can come earlier. If you wish to bring worms, please come early to the monastery as well.
