Required Materials: Mandala offering set, Ngondro book, mala (tingha) for counting, comfortable clothes, no shorts please.
Ven. Abbot Khen Rinpoche Jampa has graciously offered to lead students in a two day ngondro practice retreat. These ngondro practices are the Vajrayana preliminary/foundation practices that include refuge and prostrations, bodhicitta, mandala offering, and guru yoga.
Ven. Abbot Khen Rinpoche Jampa comes to us from Dzongsar University in India, where he was the library director and tutor for many years. He received a Degree of Acharya (equivalent to an M.A.) in Buddhist Philosophy in 2002 and was ordained as an Abbot in 2004. He has received many teachings and initiations from all four sects of Tibetan Buddhism (Sakya, Gelug, Kagyu, Nyingma), including many from H.H. the Dalai Lama, H.H. Sakya Trizin, H.H. Dagchen Rinpoche and H.H. Karmapa. At the Virupa Educational Institute, Khen Rinpoche teaches intermediate and advanced level curriculum on Buddhist philosophy, highest yoga tantra and sutra.
