This special Sakya teaching (given directly by the Bodhisattva Manjushri to the great Lama Sakyapa Kunga Nyingpo, a founder of the Sakya Order) of the preciousness of human existence, impermanence and death, the shortcomings of samsara, and the truth of karma provides a necessary foundation for the development of compassion and a pristine view of reality.
Khenpo Jampa Tenphel Rinpoche comes to us from Dzongsar University in India, where he was the library director and tutor for many years. He received a Degree of Acharya (equivalent to an M.A.) in Buddhist Philosophy in 2002 and was ordained as an Abbot in 2004. He has received many teachings and initiations from all four sects of Tibetan Buddhism (Sakya, Gelug, Kagyu, Nyingma), including many from H.H. the Dalai Lama, H.H. Sakya Trizin, H.H. Dagchen Rinpoche and H.H. Karmapa. At the Virupa Educational Institute, Khen Rinpoche teaches intermediate and advanced level curriculum on Buddhist philosophy, highest yoga tantra and sutra.
