There are many female deities in Tantric Buddhism. In Tibetan Buddhism, the deities Vajrayogini, Green Tara, White Tara, Troma Nagmo, Lion-Faced Dakini, White Umbrella Goddess, and Kurukulla are particularly important. Sometimes they are in union with their consort and other times they appear alone. Depending on the sadhana, deities are visualized in front of oneself, and one may also visualize themselves as the deity. There are various benefits associated with the different practices such as health, wealth, longevity, wisdom, and compassion.
