For the Long Life and Good Health of H.H. the Dalai Lama, H.H. Sakya Trizin, H.H. Dagchen Rinpoche, H.E. Dagmo Kusho, our Lamas, and Buddhist Teachers of All Schools
Saturday, February 6
Time: Meet at Sakya Monastery at 8:30 am or in Anacortes at 10:30 am
Tibetan Buddhists have traditionally practiced releasing animals otherwise destined for slaughter (semchen tsetar tangpa). For the animals whose lives are saved, the freedom and relief from being killed helps to bring happiness to them. The practice generates an immense amount of merit that we can dedicate for the benefit of all sentient beings. We will be raising funds to release Dungeness crabs into their natural habitat and be dedicating it for the long life and good health of our precious teachers. This activity brings long-life and good health to the participants and donors.
This event is extra special because H.H. Dagchen Rinpoche will be joined by H.E. Avikrita Rinpoche, H.E. Abhaya Rinpoche and H.E. Asanga Rinpoche along with members of the Sakya family, our lamas, and Sakya Monastery members and friends for this year’s animal release in Anacortes. We are extremely fortunate to have H.H. Dagchen Rinpoche leading the prayers. Please join others to carpool up to Anacortes at 8:30 am or you can arrange to meet in Anacortes at 10:30 am. Maps will be made available.
We are collecting donations for the animal release. Note that 100% of all donations collected for this event are used towards purchase of the animals. Donations can be made through the Sakya Monastery website (see Paypal button below). Donations can also be made by check or cash. Please make donations by February 3rd.
