Led by H.E. Dagmo Kusho Sakya
*** Due to the coronavirus outbreak, we are postponing the Live Animal Release until March. We will update this page when the new date has been determined. Thank you for your understanding. ***
Date: TBD
Time: 10am-1pm
Location: Vancouver, B.C.
To register online visit: https://conta.cc/2ti3yGb (online registration will resume again soon)
Please note: the capacity of the boat means we must limit registration to 30 people.
Dagmo Kusho and Sakya Monastery monks will conduct a ritual ceremony for the animals and lead in releasing them into their natural habitat. Prayers will be conducted dedicated to the long life of spiritual leaders and lamas worldwide.
Tibetan Buddhists have traditionally practiced releasing animals otherwise destined for slaughter (semchen tsetar tangpa). For the animals whose lives are saved, the freedom and relief from being killed helps to bring happiness to them. The practice generates an immense amount of merit that we can dedicate for the benefit of all sentient beings.
All funds raised are used for boat expenses and to purchase animals for release and are also meritorious for the donor and for all sentient beings. Registration must be received by February 4th.
Those wishing to attend must provide their own transportation, as well as accommodations, if necessary.
If you cannot attend the Vancouver, B.C. event, it is also meritorious to contribute a donation of any amount to the expenses for purchasing the animals which will be released. All contributions will bring long life and good health to the donors and also benefit of the long life of spiritual leaders and all sentient beings as well as peace worldwide.
