Tibetan Buddhists have traditionally practiced releasing animals otherwise destined for slaughter (semchen tsetar tangpa). For the animals whose lives are saved, the freedom and relief from being killed helps to bring happiness to them. The practice generates an immense amount of merit that we can dedicate for the benefit of all sentient beings. This activity also brings long‐life and good health to the participants and donors. This year, we will be raising funds to release [animal] into their natural habitat. The release will be led by Kyabchok Khondung Avikrita Vajra Rinpoche in Vancouver, B.C. and the prayers will be dedicated to the long life of Dagyum Chenmo (aka Dagmo Kusho).
In past years, we have raised over $1,000 to purchase animals of various types. that 100% of all donations collected for this event are used towards purchase of the animals. If you would like to contribute a donation towards the expenses for the live release, you may contribute via this PayPal link: https://bit.ly/34KHmSS
