This class examines the early history of the Buddhist practice of the Heart Sutra, analyzes the five aggregates and interdependent origination and the catalytic and mutually re-enforcing effects of practicing the Six Perfections. By mastering these doctrines, one learns how to develop a liberating way of perceiving the experience of all phenomena. The goal of this class is to move us closer to the ultimate nature of the union of appearance and emptiness, self and emptiness, and bliss and emptiness.
