The Community
The Sakya Monastery of Tibetan Buddhism is committed to the active engagement of our community. We offer many programs and events with a focus on community involvement, both at the Monastery and in the community. Here are some of the programs we offer:
The Marici Fellowship – a grassroots organization dedicated to bringing compassionate aid to those in the community who need it most. We have monthly meetings and an orientation program to help you get started. You can volunteer your time, share your experiences with others and help bring our community closer together
Spiritual Support Practices – We perform various practices on site to support those in need. A Medicine Buddha group will offer prayers for those who suffer from disease and physical suffering, while the Next of Kin Prayer Vigils offer benefit for those in critical medical circumstances. You don’t need to have any specific empowerment to help your loved ones; simply send in your information and our Lamas and Sangha will perform the function on your behalf.
